Women's Hiking Shoes

Rated 5 out of 5 by blauren from Simply wonderful boots I’m normally in between an 8 & 8.5, so I got size 8.5 and they were perfect, I could also wear two pears of thick socks and still be comfortable. I used these boots for the first time hiking up a mountain. I realized that probably wasn’t the best decision because the boots had yet to be broken in, but I had no problems whatsoever. They kept my feet warm in 21° weather (& that’s hard to do with my feet), kept them cool while I was hiking, and kept them dry in snow. To sum it up, I was in awe of how perfect these boots were and couldn’t believe how good my feet felt after hiking, despite hiking at a constant incline for 8 hours straight. Rated 5 out of 5 by Lfleck14 from Women’s Newton ridge plus hiking boot Wonderful hiking boot. I broke them in for only about a week and took them on miles of hiking on and off trails in the PNW and they were wonderful. They give great ankle and foot support, they have great traction, and are extremely comfortable to wear. Date published: 2016-10-07

Rated 5 out of 5 by SoCal16 from Great for desert hiking Love the leather toe and upper for desert hiking. Keeps out sand, gravel, and the random cholla spines! This is my second pair from Columbia with similar style–my old pair is retired from hiking since the tread is worn but it’s still great for walking in sand and dirt on the flat. Rated 5 out of 5 by thisisN from Great pair of all weather hiking boots. Wore it in the snow, hiked with it in the rain, and fell into a river hiking with them on. My socks remained dry, and my feet comfy. Better and more durable than my sneakers, and I love my sneakers. They do run a little bit big, but I still got my original size and wore thick socks with them while hiking. Date published: 2016-01-31

Rated 3 out of 5 by CarolynCC from Runs a little wide, Feels kind of cheap I run between a 7.5 and an 8, so ordered an 8. It runs just a tad big both in length and width, but I have narrow feet so anyone with normal feet is probably fine. The shoes in general have a great design. I like the simplistic look of them and the shape of the toe – though I wish the brown wasn’t so deep in color. Columbia could get a lot of traction selling these shoes with a lighter brown and some colorful laces. The shoes do feel a little bit cheaply made compared to other Columbia shoes. I’m returning them because of the wide fit, however. Date published: 2016-03-04

Rated 4 out of 5 by Elizabeth27 from Has great features, BUT So I received these boots as a graduation present because I now reside in Colorado for college, and I love the outdoors. There are a few specific reasons I rated them 4/5, so i’ll explain. They are my first pair of hiking boots and I made a very rookie mistake in not breaking them in in the slightest before heading out on a medium/moderate terrain 7.5 mile hike. Literally took them out of the box and headed out to the mountains. I did notice right off the bat though that even though I don’t have a high arch, the arch of my right foot was aching within half an hour of the trek from lack of support there. I brushed it off and realized too late that preparation should have been taken beforehand, so I didn’t have to suffer through 5 hours of being on my feet with this. The crease did hurt my toes, although I did expect at least that since the leather/product is brand new and needs time to soften. My hiking socks are also Columbia brand since it’s been my favorite for winter boots etc, but I will be looking for new socks with more cushion to help with the lack of arch support and overall cushion in the sole of the boot, as well as looking for in-soles for more support. I really enjoy the aesthetic of the boot, and wished there was more support in the soles, and that the tongue of the boot didn’t stick out funny as it did after being laced up, which may have played a role in why i’m a little sore around the ankles as well; the boot itself was a smidgen loose around my ankle because of that. If you have more of a flat foot, are ready to spend a little more money on some in-soles, or are just looking for a good quality boot with less cushion, these are right for you. The omni-grip is amazing and I didn’t slip once whilst scaling boulders and they were a breeze on uneven terrain. I also got size 6.5 (quarry/ blue wave) as I usually wear a size 6, and I have the perfect amount of space for thick socks. Overall I feel very hopeful with these boots and that’ll i’ll be able to break them in and modify them to fit my needs because in a few weeks I am planning a 14er mountain hike, and these boots have a good frame to my standards, and I would love to actually be comfortable in my boots. I hope this review is helpful! Date published: 2016-09-06

Rated 5 out of 5 by msmithrnbsn from Best Hikers Around I just purchased my 2nd pair of the Newton Ridge hiking boots. The first pair were so comfy I wore them most of the time. These boots are durable, comfortable, great traction & ankle support, waterproof uppers, easy to clean and care for. I have worn these in the city, hiking in the Smokey’s to around the farm, just a great boot! Date published: 2015-06-18

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jade329 from worth the price!! I was nervous about paying 90.00 plus for a pair of shoes on line with out trying them on, but after researching the boot and reading other reviews I went for it, and I am glad I did, I just joined a hiking group and they have been very comfortable esp. on the 10 plus mile long hikes!!! Constructed with a durable mix of leather and mesh, the upper on this waterproof hiking boot is at once protective, breathable and secure. Inside, the midsole is lightweight and cushioned with enough support to keep up with even your most ambitious day trips. Hold tight to varied terrain with super-gripping, non-marking rubber outsoles that love to hug good dirt (not to mention rocks, grass, gravel and roots).

Rated 1 out of 5 by Deb2011 from Not a Happy Camper So looking forward to getting these boots. When I ordered them I noticed others mentioning they ran small so I ordered 1/2 size larger, so the fit was fine. However, when I tried the boot on it was stiff, uncomfortable and offered little to no padding to support my foot. I could already anticipate the blisters I was going to get on my first hike. I decided to forego the hiking and simply returned them before they could do any damage. So very disappointed. This was a reminder to me of the reason why I rarely purchase footwear online. Rated 5 out of 5 by ArcheryLady from Finally found a replacement for my old Columbias I’ve been trying to find a replacement for another pair of Columbias that I have worn for years – and many, many miles. This pair does it. They are comfortable, pretty cool on hot days even with heavy socks. and waterproof. First time in years at Scout Camp that I didn’t think about my feet! Even after 12 hours. Recommend getting a1/2 to full size larger than street shoe size but that’s wise with most hiking boots so you can accommodate heavier socks. I love how the treads do not hang onto clumps of mud (doesn’t track into the car) Date published: 2015-07-17

Rated 3 out of 5 by Candicra from Pretty, but small and uncomfortable The shoes are pretty. However, they run very narrow. The material is hard and buckles in the toes when you walk. It feels like it will pinch my toes off when moving at a normal pace. This isn’t the normal rate for new boots needing breaking in. They are so snug they cut my circulation off and if I leave them loosened the tops bulge out. The laces are entirely to short as well for any comfortable adjustment. I could try them in a wider size, but I am not sure that would change the pinch points. I normally wear a 10 narrow, which can run a little large on me, especially in boots, but it gives my feet room to swell, so I ordered the standard to be safe.- That is not the case this time. Which is sad as the length seems perfect, which is a rare occasion for me in any shoe. Date published: 2017-03-15
